TCeurope award that has been bestowed since the foundation of TCeurope,
went to the UK, the country with the longest standing tradition

the country with the oldest of the TCeurope member organisations:

TCeurope now integrates 9 organisations with members in more than 11 European countries. APCOMTEC aims at developing, promoting and representing Technical Communication within Portugal. Most of the currently 30 members work in the telecommunications area. Gabriel Rebelo, initiator, co-founder and President of APCOMTEC, states that Technical Communication in Portugal is a relatively new area, with little national awareness. The members of APCOMTEC are highly committed and motivated in further developing their know-how, sharing and actively engaging with other members and expect to broaden the field of Technical Communication within Portugal. TCeurope supports the younger and smaller societies through exchange of information, knowledge and experience as well as cooperation in joint projects.

Does the reputation of technical communication reflect its actual significance? Are technical editors well trained enough to perform their important tasks adequately ? What are their salaries ? What are the conditions set by the national legal framework ? What are the prospects of technical communication ? This collection, for the first time, puts the answers to these and other questions into an international perspective. Competent authors offer a survey of the status and prospects of technical communication for 17 countries in Europe, Asia, America and Australia.
