SecureDoc (completed)

The 2004 SecureDoc Project resulted in a publication providing practical guidelines to help manufacturers and service providers  produce user-friendly instruction manuals for consumer goods. This publication, although no longer completely up-to-date, can be purchased from any of TCurope's member organizations, usually at a small fee. Translations in many languages are available. Contact the member organization in your language area for further information.

The project SECUREDOC focused on consumer-related aspects of technical documentation and was supported by the Directorate General Health and Consumer Protection of the European Commission. Four member organisations of TCeurope (CRT, ISTC, STD and tekom), together with consumer organisations in Austria, Finland, Germany and Sweden and the Donau-Universität Krems, developed a practical guideline to help manufacturers and service providers to produce user-friendly instruction manuals for consumer goods. The consumers' view point plays an important part in the guideline. The guideline is now available in 11 language versions.
